Portfolio Version One
This was the hand coded portfolio I finished the New Media Design and Web Development program at BCIT with. Built in between classes and in a rush, I wasn’t exactly thrilled with the end product. But I did have a lot of fun working on it and and trying new things, perhaps that had something to do with a lack of sleep and far too much caffeine.
One thing I wanted to do was have the logo I have created in school to pop up on screen. To get that effect, I made a copy of my photo of Vancouver that I used for the background and edited the sky out of it, then saved that copy as a PNG file with a transparent background. I positioned my logo to load 350px from the top of the window and then placed the PNG copy of the harbour and downtown Vancouver buildings over that. Now my logo would rise up from behind the buildings as users scrolled down.
